Baltic Nordic Circus Network (BNCN) is alive and kicking!
On the 2nd and 3rd of October, 2021, BNCN convened to discuss strategies, build capacity and create new co-operations between the members in the Baltic Nordic countries. This time co-host organizations Cirkus Syd and Rīgas Cirks organized the gathering to bring together professionals from 8 countries.
Representatives from Rīgas Cirks, Cirkus Syd, Teatronas, Cirkus Cirkör, AD Productions MTÜ, FYCA (Finnish Youth Circus Association), CircusInfo Finland, Circus Studio Folie, Hringleikur, Arts Printing House, Acting for Climate, Silence festival, DYNAMO Workspace for Circus and Performing Arts, Sirkunst, Cirko, Subtopia and Foreningen Ørkenfortet, AFUK Copenhagen were in attendance.
In addition to the joy of being able to meet face to face, this meeting was special in that it coincided with the Baltic professional showcase EPICIRQ. During the two days, the program presented full length or work in progress performances and pitch presentations, artist talks and discussions, short act presentations, and non-curated program by local circus artists and companies.
